Overall

I thought that it was a good way to test how much vocabulary you know for N2. I don’t think it was necessarily easier or harder than the full practice exam. I think the hardest part for me was actually the prefix and suffix section and the choosing correct usage of the word.

N2 has a ton of vocabulary words, so I’m not sure if these words are more or less common. I feel like they did not have many words that I have never seen before.

I think the vocabulary section is something you either know or don’t. I guess you can try to guess a little, but taking a long time to infer what is the correct answer will suck away your precious time on the real JLPT test that you need for the incredibly long reading section.

Overall, I found it quite useful and I completed 1-2 per day. I definitely recommend this book to test your vocabulary knowledge in a JLPT style format. You kind of need the JPLT style format if you plan on taking the real exam just to familiarize yourself with the test style.
