慣用表現 (かんようひょうげん): idiomatic expressions
So like any language, Japanese has a whole set of idiomatic expressions to learn. These are often spoken, but also written as well. Some are super common, while others may not be.
Here are some common ones:

気をつけて (きをつけて): be careful
気にいる (きにいる): to like/pleased with
気になる (きになる): to become interested in
気が付く(きがつく): to notice/realize

耳をする (みみをする): hear by chance
目をする (めをする): see by chance
𝗘𝘅.𝟯
顔を出す (かおをだす): make an appearance, show up
頭が来る (あたまがくる): get on one’s nerves
𝗘𝘅.𝟰
心を込めて (こころをこめて): with all one’s heart
愛を込めて (あいをこめて): with love

Knowing these idioms can just add another level of understanding to your comprehension (same as onomatopoeias). Some of them are phrases you hear quite often in everyday life, so you’ll start to notice them often once you learn them.
